The organizational redesign with information systems Essay

The organizational redesign with information systems - Essay Example From this research it is clear that within legal systems, an information system is a combination of hardware, software, procedures, policies, people, information and data which is involved in the management of a firm’s business legal functions with an aim of meeting organizational objectives and goals with efficiency and effectiveness. The hardware within information systems includes the physical aspects of the system such as computer components and the related equipment. The software is a set of applications that are used alongside the hardware to effectively perform organizational or business functions. The software applications in a legal setting include information processing systems, database packages, finance and accounting packages, anti malware applications, and word processing packages. The policies of a legal information system comprise of the set standards for proper management of the system according to the internal and universal norms of legal firms’ functi oning. Davison and Deeks assert that procedures in a legal information system are the steps through which various legal activities and processes within the systems should follow to ensure that efficiency is enhanced and thus achievement of high quality of legal services. In an information system, the people are the human resource and expertise who are involved in various organizational activities and processes. Therefore the employees in a legal firm including the lawyers and firm management are the people who are involved in the processing of information within the information system. Data or information is a significant aspect of an information system because it helps organization to function and survive in the business environment through its application to enhance all business processes and to compete favorably within the market. Time Travel Essay Example for Free

Time Travel Essay Time travel is one of the most interesting topic in science fiction. Time travel is usually depicted in movies such as Back to the Future, Time Machine, or Star Trek, you will see people hopping in strange machines or using a device that will take them back and forth through time. At one point almost every kids dream or science fiction fanatics vast imagination consist of some sort of time traveling to change their past or to go to the future. Time travel can fulfill our dreams of going back to the past and meeting a inspirational hero or reliving a historic event. There are many reason for why humans would love to time travel one day. You can change the past or relive a very important moment or if you are really curious go into the future. In class we watched a time travel episode where a woman who was kidnapped and raped in her teens, went back in time and killed serial killers/rapist who had been convicted and executed in the present. In theory she is killing these serial killers before they have yet to kill or maybe even think about killing someone. In the end she killed 20 men and saved 85 women. However, I believe this is morally wrong and was unjust for her to do it. She killed these men who have not killed or maybe even think about killing anyone yet to change the present. It would have been just if she actually try to change their mind about killing the victims. If you could persuade them in not killing their victims than that would have been much better, rather than killing them when they were innocent. If I could time travel I would least likely to go back to the 1930s-40s. This was when World War 2 started, a weapon of mass destruction was launched, and the largest genocide occurred, The Holocaust. A number of new technology and ideology came forth which made the war and each nation much more deadlier, for example the German Blitzkrieg, Concentration Camps, Japanese Kamikaze, and the deadliest weapon of them all the American Atomic Bomb. It would be horrific to relive this moment when many died tragically for unjust causes. The worst event of them all is the Holocaust. To relive a moment when Jews/non-Aryans were deported to concentration camps to be killed, tortured, or use as slaves would be a complete nightmare. Just looking at pictures of the Holocaust can sicken any person. If I could time travel I would most likely go back is the Middle Ages due to my long term interest in the way of life in those times. Reading The Lord of the Rings and the Games of Throne have made me love this time period even more. I am sure as kids or even know we always wanted to be a knight and do chivalrous deeds or become a king and rule over a whole kingdom. Most if not all fantasy movies/T. V shows are inspired by the Middle Ages. Many important ideology that even we use today came from the Middle Ages such as, equality, a class system, a constitution, and the dignity of labor. The idea of democracy was founded by the Greeks. They were the first nation that gave some power to the people for example, the right to vote. In a Medieval society if you were a knight that fought for his kingdom or anyone that work to supply the kingdom were seen as people of importance. There is this very important event in my life that may have change my life and made me respect myself and the people around me even more. My freshman year of high school I was enrolled in Xaverian High school. My journey to this unknown school was very tough because I felt like the new guy in town wanting to fit in and because it is a Catholic school. Ultimately I got to experience a new adventure that changed my view in society. I was born and raised as a Buddhist so going to Xaverian made me feel different than everyone else. The school mostly consist of white Catholic/Christian students which surprisingly did not make me feel uneasy one bit. However, I felt wrong while attending Xaverian because I actually tried to change the way I lived to fit in with my peers. Every day school day the class would start the day with the prayer Our Father and end it with the Sign of the Cross across your chest and I would actually do it. Unlike my classmates who has an emotional attachment to the prayer and to God I only did it to fit in. I disrespected the culture of a Catholic just to try and fit in when all of my friends in reality did not care if I was a Buddhist. I was blinded by this and in the end I transferred to Murrow to stop compromising my own religion. This definitely made me respect my own religion and the people around me even more. I would never dare change this event in my life for any reason.

On the official website the company has posted geographical regions for its intended growth region and invites the public to propose a development site. The study feel that by using this approach McDonalds is making an effective use of public information by providing an open platform for the local. This information gathering methodology not only is more efficient in terms of using local public knowledge about the area, but is also effective way of reducing planning, research and development cost and time that goes is development of a new site. This marketing strategy also adds to Brand awareness, brand recognition and stronger connect via the local people. To afford a comparative analysis of the internal and external environment of McDonalds this study has used KFC’s corresponding data. It’s structured as an independent business with responsible accounting operations, community relations, training and human resources. They offer both counter service and drive through service with indoor and outdoor seating. In 2006, introduction of forever young brand was to redesign the current structure outlet of restaurant. One of the cornerstones of McDonalds success in the UK is its property portfolio, which provides a well located and convenient network of restaurants throughout the country for our customers to use and enjoy. There are almost 1200 restaurants to be found in a variety of locations such as traditional high streets; shopping centres; retail parks; roadside locations; leisure centres; railway and airport termini and motorway service areas. We are renowned for being the pioneers of the drive-thru restaurant concept and are the UK and world leader in this sector. This continues to be the key focus for our growth. Due to the growing success of the Company, the intention is to increase the pace of acquisitions with a target of 40 new restaurant openings per year from 2014, which will create up to 2,400 new job opportunities annually. Recently there was criticism about the cow disease crisis which showed serious threats towards world health. Children welfare society also opposes this company about their advertisement on happy meal which continuously attract children to buy their products. The other opponents are mainly animal rights groups that supported animal cruelty, which are against the manufacture of food produced by killing animals. Environment Analysis McDonalds differs from its Competitors All leases are taken in the McDonalds Restaurants Ltd name McDonalds take leases up to 25 years McDonalds has a superior covenant strength achieving yields of between 5% and 6% Site requirements Mixed Use/Retail Parks/Leisure Parks/Main Arterial Routes Co-location opportunities with hotels and petrol stations considered Ideal site size is 0.5+ acres All opportunities considered: Standalone units/Leasehold or Freehold sites up to one acre Our Recommendations: The research asserts that being in food industry the importance of maintaining a healthy and clean image in the eye of the public can never be overemphasized. Having said that, the increasing competition in the industry may lead to targeted negative criticism towards McDonalds. Developing a proactive crisis management team will be key element to manage any crisis situation. This study feels that there is a direct correlation between growth planning and the number of outlets that an organisation can open in new geographical areas across the UK. The franchise model plays a key role in deciding the growth path in the UK market and how well McDonald’s and its competitors manage this model will determine the organisations future share in this industry segment in the foreseeable future. Below are some key recommendations: Proactive measures to find a store location in the newer markets: Whereas, inviting public to propose a site for an outlet is a very cost effective and efficient way for growth planning, at the same time the study feels that McDonalds should take proactive steps to capture all the key locations in the major towns and cities. Using extensive market research, talking to local people and other direct means of research will be highly recommended for this purpose. Encouraging active participation of local resources: From finding a new location to the stage of complete set up of a franchise store, the process may involve a close liaison with local public. The study feels that there should be more incentive for the local parties to take an enthusiastic participation in this process. The study found that the KFC offers a ‘Finder’s Fee’ covenant openly disclosed under the FAQ section whereas provision for such a clause was missing from McDonalds website. Full disclosure of key information which is vital for decision making: If the franchise procedure is explained well, it could play a key role in encouraging people to show active participation in the process. Whereas KFC’s website discloses information about handing of planning permission and the time duration involved in the whole set up process very openly, this was found missing from the franchise FAQs section of the McDonalds website. Clear and full disclosure of the vital facts will afford more tools for informed decision making in the hands of perspective franchisee.

Big Life, REVIEW :: Drama

Big Life, REVIEW â€Å"The play/ musical is about a group of black people coming to England, from the Caribbean islands, in search for a better standard of living and hopefully to get a good job and settle there. The play just explains what the different people have to put up, and how their lives have become after coming to England. It shows how they resist women, how they fight off racism and of how they try to fulfil their ambitions in England. It is set back in the 1950’s, where the country was very white- dominated, and English people were not accustomed to having people of other cultures around them. It is a very touching musical; with that little bit of comedy, added by Mrs Aphrodite, a member of the audience, talking of her own experiences in the 50’s. Full of life and music, and very engaging! SYNOPSIS: The Big Life starts off with all the men, and Sybil coming to England. Sybil and Bernie, who are engaged, break up because Bernie thinks that she was flirting with another man. The men all together decide to make a pact. This says that they will finish having things like cigarettes and alcohol; sleep just 4 hours per night; fast once a week and no relationships with women, and make a  £5 bet with admiral that they will stick to what they say. The next scene is in the B&B, where Zulieka, Mary and Kathy are sitting and doing odd jobs, when Sybil enters. She tells them of how she broke up with Bernie, and the women all decide that they no longer want anything to do with men. Meanwhile, the men are on a tube looking for somewhere to stay, and someone mentions the B&B, but Bernie says he’d rather sleep on the streets. They decide in the end to go there and get rooms. The women continue to talk of how useless men are. Then in Piccadilly Circus, Admiral and Jacqueline the prostitute are sitting eating chips, when Lennie and Dennis enter, complaining they have still not found a job and how rude people are being to them. The reverend enters and starts preaching, and Admiral is insulted as he feels he is implying that he plays the devil’s music, so plays louder. The members of the congregation start singing and Lennie and Dennis have an argument. In the B&B, Bernie enters in his new postman’s uniform, and Sybil exits. Zulieka explains that the other man she was talking to was an uncle of hers. Ferdy and Zulieka discuss his book and some memories.

I’m Not an Imitation of Someone Else, I’m Latina :: Personal Narrative Writing

I’m Not an Imitation of Someone Else, I’m Latina As I sat at the kitchen table on those chilly winter evenings in Kenner, Louisiana, I could feel my mother staring at me from where she was. I was busy doing my homework, and she was preparing that night's supper. She would always start off by asking me what I was doing and the only thing I would ever answer was, "Oh, nothing. Just homework." Then I would turn away and sort of look in the other direction as if to tell her to leave me alone, because I had a lot to do. At the time I was only eight years old, in my second complete year of schooling in the United States. I had already fully grasped the English language, and it had been a year and a half since I had been removed from the bilingual program. In actuality, I had become Americanized quiet easily. Although this was a process that involvedgive and take, because although I did adapt to my new environment very well, I never let go of what I had already learned in my previous environment. I can recall that at the same time that I was learning to read and write in English, I was also learning to do so in my native tongue, Spanish. In school, as I sat in the small wooden house, which was the bilingual classroom, I could clearly remember wondering why it was that "Spot" was so important. For more than a month we had been learning about this brown dog and about seeing him run. This experience was very strange for me, not only because it was in a totally new language but because I never did really see spot run. I only saw him painted on an oversized illustrated notebook. After a long and confusing day at school, I would come home to do my assignments; alone. It wasn't that my mother did not want to help me, but she couldn't. She knew little about the assignment , and knew even less about the language. At first I didn't mind. The assignments were easy for me to figure out, and if it was really hard I would just tell the teacher the next day that I couldn't figure it out. Sh e would ask me why I didn't ask my mother for help, and I would have to respond to her, "because she didn't know either.

Nazar, Bombata History, Per 1 10, 28, 12 Nazar, Bombata History, Per 1 10, 28, 12 Muhammad the Great Once upon a time there was a young man named Muhammad who was 18 years old. He was one of the youth that lived amongst the nomadic tribe in Ghana. When Sundiata fell a new leader named Mansa Musa who was Muslim and had spread Islam came into power. The story continued to describe a pilgrimage to Mecca and how upon returning to Mali, Mansa Musa rode on a horse with 500 slave’s dresses each in silk and all carrying gold staffs.
